FAQ’S:
What sort of weather conditions can we fly in?
The two main limiting factors affecting our flight models are wind and rain. At the time of this writing, we follow these guidelines. First, for safety reasons we do not fly our system in winds exceeding 15 mph so that we can obtain the smoothest video results for our clients.
How high, and how fast can we fly?
The FAA normally limits small-unmanned aircraft systems to an altitude of 400 feet. There are certain exceptions that can be made through obtaining a waiver for a specific purpose through the FAA and we can apply for one if we determine that a waiver is needed to capture the images that we are seeking without jeopardizing safety. As for speeds are concern, wind conditions play a role, but it is not uncommon to obtain maximum speeds of about 50 mph.
Can we fly indoors?
Yes. Our systems are completely electric and very stable. All we need is a location with a large open unobstructed area, such as a sound stage, warehouse, sports facility, auditorium, etc. Depending on the venue a FAA waiver may be needed.
Can we provide still photography?
Yes, we do still photography as our systems are designed for capturing high-resolution still images and video.
How does a typical aerial video shoot work?
At some point following our pre-production meeting, our team will travel to the site location with all the necessary equipment, and governing documents. Once at location, we unload, set-up, and do all safety checks. If all systems are good to go, then we can be ready for our first flights in approximately 30 minutes.
Our team normally consists of three key members; a primary pilot, a remote camera operator/secondary pilot, and a safety supervisor. While the drone is airborne, a live video feed is sent to our ground-station and being recorded. From here, the camera operator, as well our client(s) can see everything from the camera’s perspective. Together, along-side the pilot, the group can easily communicate to one another in order to ensure the desired images are being captured.
Are there any regulations or permitting?
Yes. We follow all guidelines and applicable laws as prescribed by the Federal Aviation Administration Part 107 governing the operation of small-unmanned aircraft systems. Additionally, state and local jurisdictions may have certain regulations as to the operation of small-unmanned aircraft systems in your city. Before initiating any flight we will insure that TCB Productions is in complete compliance with all laws and ordinances governing the operation of small-unmanned aircraft systems in your area. Additionally, we adhered to the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) privacy policies & guidelines.
Okay, sounds good so what’s next and what's the cost?
Each assignment is tailored to your specific needs. The final cost may be more affordable than you think and depends on the amount of equipment needed, time involved, special waivers or permissions, location and the amount of post-production work needed. There is NO cost for your initial consultation. Call or submit an interest inquiry today and a staff member will contact you shortly.
